Another new guy.

Hey everyone, just wanted to say you guys have a nice site here with a lot of helpful people. I found this site yesterday at this time and have already spent 12 hours or more just reading and searching.

I'm new to betting though very knoweldgeable to american basketball, football, and baseball. I've signed up at BetJam and have been reading the lines for MLB though I'm having trouble understanding the numbers, such as +130 or -115? I guess I need some kind of guide to get me started!

Any help or info would be appreciated, like I said I'm new to the betting but not sports. I'd like to find someone who knows the system well that wouldn't mind being somewhat of a mentor? And maybe I could return the favor and share what I know with the others in this forum. :toast:

At +130 you bet $100 to win $130 while at -115 you bet $115 to win $100.

Thanks Woody0, I really appreciate the help! I have one more question, can I enter in a different wager or do I have to use what the line says, like $115 to win $100? Say for example could I double the $115 and wager $230?

If so, on a straight bet is the text box to the left what I enter my wager in? Sorry for the newbie questions, but it's a little confusing. I'm glad I know what everything means now though!

Sure, you can enter any amount between the minimum and maximum bet, e.g. $5.75 at -115 will win $5.00

Betjamaica offers run lines (-1.5/+1.5 handicaps) money lines and totals. In each case the box to enter your wager is to the left of the odds.

Don't worry, once you enter and submit your bet you get a confirmation screen, so you can carefully check your bet is correct before either confirming or cancelling.
